DLF (2008-2012)
DLF was the title sponsor for the first five seasons of the IPL, from 2008 to 2012. The real estate company paid Rs. 200 crores ($40 million USD) for the five-year deal, which was the biggest sponsorship deal in Indian sports at the time.
Pepsi (2013-2015)
In 2013, Pepsi became the title sponsor of the IPL, replacing DLF. The soft drink giant paid Rs. 396.8 crores ($71.77 million USD) for the three-year deal, which was the biggest sponsorship deal in Indian sports at the time.
Vivo (2016-2017, 2018-2020)
In 2016, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo became the title sponsor of the IPL, replacing Pepsi. The company paid Rs. 100 crores ($14.3 million USD) per year for the deal, which was increased to Rs. 440 crores ($62.8 million USD) per year in 2018. Vivo remained the title sponsor of the IPL until 2020.
Dream11 (2020)
In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vivo pulled out as the title sponsor of the IPL, and fantasy sports platform Dream11 stepped in as the title sponsor for the season. The company paid Rs. 222 crores ($30 million USD) for the one-year deal.
VIVO (2021)
In 2021, VIVO returned as the title sponsor of the IPL, replacing Dream11. The Chinese smartphone maker paid Rs. 440 crores ($60 million USD) for the one-year deal.
TATA (2022-2023)
From 2022 IPL is sponsored by TATA company replacing VIVO. In 2022, they have paid Rs 439.8 crores for title sponsorship of the Indian Premier League for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
